Hebrew: and they shall serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth." And it was so.

Greek: and let them be for illumination in the firmament of the heaven so that they might give light upon the earth. And it happened so.

Old Latin: Iet them be an ornament in the firmament of heaven to shine upon the earth." And so it was done. 16. God made the two great lights, the greater light to establish the day and the smaller light to establish the night, and He made the stars.

Vulgate: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so
