Genesis 1.7

Hebrew: God made the expanse, and it separated the water which was below the expanse from the water which was above the expanse. And it was so.

Greek: And God made the firmament, and God divided the water, dividing between that which was below the firmament and that which was above the firmament.

Old Latin: And God made the firmament and God divided the water that was below the firmament from the water that was above the firmament.

Vulgate: And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

Peshitta: And God made the firmament and it separated between the waters below and the waters of the firmament.

Targums:

• Onkelos: And the Lord made the expanse and He separated the water which was below the expanse from the water which was above the expanse, and it was so.

• PS. Jonathan: God made the firmament--its thickness being three finger breadths--between the limits of the heavens and the waters of the ocean, and he separated the waters that were under the firmament from the waters that were above in the reservoir of the firmament. And it was so.
