Genesis 3.8

Hebrew: They heard the sound of the Lord God moving about in the garden at the breezy time of day; and the man and his wife hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Greek: And they heard the voice of the Lord God, who was walking about in the garden at evening-time, and both Adam and his wife hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Old Latin: And they heard the voice of the Lord God as He walked in Paradise in the late afternoon, and then Adam and his wife hid themselves from the face of the Lord God amidst the trees of Paradise.

Vulgate: And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the Garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Peshitta: And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden at the turn of the day and Adam and his wife hid from before the Lord God amid the trees of the Garden.

• Onkelos: Then they heard the voice of the Memra of the Lord God walking in the garden towards the decline of the day; so Adam and his wife hid themselves from before the Lord God within a tree of the garden.

• Neophyti: And they heard the sound of the Memra of the Lord God walking within the garden at the breeze of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves from before the Lord God within the trees of the garden.

• Neophyti: Thorns and thistles shall it bring forth for you, and you shall eat of the herbs that are on the surface of the field." Adam answered and said: "Pray, by the mercy (that is) before you, O Lord; let us not be reckoned as the cattle, eating the grass that is on the surface of the field. Let us stand upright, I pray, and labor; and from the labor of my hands let us eat food from the fruits of the earth. Thereby shall he distinguish the sons of man from the cattle."
